Reed's First Trip to Disney World!

Reed's first trip to Disney World was perfect!

Daddy & I took Reed to Disney World to celebrate his 5th birthday (a little early)! We didn't tell Reed where we were going. All he knew was that he was going on an airplane and staying in a hotel.

Chase stayed at home with Lala, but don't feel too sorry for him because they had a blast! They went to the Zoo, toy shopping, the park, McDonalds, and all kinds of fun stuff.

DAY 1 - Saturday, March 31st

Headed to the airport on the shuttle.

Reed holding our driver's tip.

On the airplane waiting to take-off...he was SO excited!

When we landed in Orlando, we saw Mickey Mouse & Goofy, but Reed still didn't catch on to where we were.

Reed & Mickey Mouse
We even saw Spider-man at the airport!

On the tram in Orlando...
We stayed at the All-Star Movies Hotel at Disney World the first night. Here's a video of us arriving at the hotel:

When we got to the hotel, it started raining. I was super bummed, but it didn't ruin Reed's excitement. We still went exploring in the rain.

We stayed in the Toy Story wing.
(A big thanks to M.E. & Brad for letting us know about this hotel)

Reed loved playing on everything in the Courtyard.

Checking out Woody before going to see our room.

He was excited to see the room decorated like Toy Story too!
The rain quit before we knew it, so we went back down to check everything out some more. Mommy & Reed in front of Andy's bedroom door.

Buzz was SO big! Look how little Reed looks.

A close-up of Reed in front of Buzz!

After exploring the hotel, we headed to Downtown Disney to eat at Planet Hollywood.

When we got back to the hotel, Daddy & Reed changed into their swim trunks, and we headed to the pool.

This bunny was eating some grass in front of our hotel. It hopped away when we walked up.

Reed posing on the Woody blocks.

Reed & Daddy had a blast swimming.

After swimming, we went inside and grabbed some ice cream. Look how big Daddy's ice cream cookie sandwich was:

DAY 2 - Sunday, April 1st
Magic Kingdom

We left our hotel at 6:45 am to head to Magic Kingdom, and it was the smartest thing we've ever done. Because we were staying at a Disney World property, we were able to take advantage of the Early Magic Hours. We knocked out almost everything we wanted to ride before noon and didn't have much of a wait at any ride. It was PERFECT! By noon, the Magic Kingdom was packed.

Mommy & Reed at the entrance of Magic Kingdom

We went to the Buzz Lightyear ride first! We walked right in and got on the ride.
Reed was so excited! He loved this ride.

Reed & I rode the Astro Orbiter while Daddy went and got a Fast Pass for Splash Mountain. It was neat being so high in the sky! (There's a video at the bottom of this post from this ride).

Daddy met us at Space Mountain, and we rode it next. That ride was a bit too scary for Reed. He said that he didn't want to ride that one again, and I don't blame him. I was scared for him the whole ride because it was so dark!

After Space Mountain, we went to Tomorrowland's Speedway.

Daddy & Reed had a big time on the race track.

Mad Tea Party ride was next.
Reed & I tried to spin the tea cup as fast as we could to see if we could make Daddy sick. Reed had a big time on this ride and was super dizzy when we got off.

In front of Cinderella's Castle.

We went on Peter Pan's Flight next, which was fun.

We rode Splash mountain next. Reed LOVED it! When we got off that ride, he said "I want to do that one again!" So, we grabbed another Fast Pass, then went and ate lunch. After lunch, it was HOT and very crowded. We watched the Character Parade next.

Waving to all the characters...

There's Mickey Mouse! Reed wasn't interested in getting his picture made with any of the characters at the Magic Kingdom, but he changed his mind at Hollywood Studios.

We left the Magic Kingdom around 2:30 and headed to our next hotel. Reed rode on his Daddy's shoulders to the car.

We stayed at the Renaissance Marriott Hotel for the rest of our trip, and Reed loved it because it had its very own little water park. The pool area had two big water slides, 1 small water slide and 2 sprinkler/splash pads.

Once Reed went down the big slides, he was hooked!

He went up these stairs and rode the two big slides at least 50 times a day.

We played in the water until about 5:00, then headed back upstairs to change.

We left the hotel around 6 or so, and headed out to find something to eat. Reed passed out in the back seat! We were really worried that we weren't going to be able to get him to wake up for the Firework Show at Magic Kingdom, but he did!

Mommy & Reed getting ready to ride Dumbo the Flying Elephants.

One tired boy waiting for the Firework Show to start.

The Castle changed different colors throughout the Firework show. It was really neat.

DAY 3 - April 2nd
Hollywood Studios

We didn't get to Hollywood Studios until about 9:00 am, and it was already packed by the time we got there.

Daddy & Reed at Hollywood Studios

We went straight to the Toy Story Mania ride, and it was already a 60 minute wait. Fast Pass wasn't available until late that afternoon, so we waited in line for a little over an hour. Reed never complained once! We went to Hollywood Studios just to ride this ride, so we weren't leaving until we rode it!

Reed & Mommy waiting in line at Toy Story Mania.

They had a talking Mr. Potato Head to entertain us while we waited.

3D glasses...check!

The ride was definitely worth the wait!!!

We grabbed a Fast Pass for the Voyage of the Little Mermaid, then we saw Chip & Dale. To our surprise, Reed wanted to take a picture with them!

Getting his autograph book signed for the first time!

Reed with Chip & Dale
Getting autographs from Goofy & Pluto.

Pluto was trying to mess up Reed's hair. I thought Reed was going to punch him!
Reed with Pluto & Goofy!

We had about 30 minutes until our Fast Pass time for Little Mermaid, so we ran to get an autograph & picture made with Sorcerer Mickey.

Reed & Sorcerer Mickey

We had less than five minutes to get to the Little Mermaid, so we ran and made it just in time. For lunch, we ate at the Pizza Planet (from Toy Story).

It was really cool! We ate a surprisingly delicious pizza, then we headed downstairs to play some arcade games.
This was Reed's favorite game there! On the Mario Kart game, it took Reed's picture. See it on the screen:

This picture of Reed as Luigi cracked me up!

After lunch, we watched The Muppets in 3D!

When we walked out of The Muppet Show, we saw Mater & Lightning McQueen!

Reed getting ready to get his picture made with them.

We headed over to the "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" movie set. Reed had a blast playing on everything.

Going down one of the slides.

Waiting for the Super Soaker water gun to blast him with water...

Still waiting...
and he gets SOAKED!

Sliding down a plant leaf.

He left this movie set sweating from playing so hard!

We went back to the hotel later that day and played for about 2 hours at the pool. Reed went down the water slides too many times to count!

DAY 4 - April 3rd
Headed home

We slept in on our last day, then headed to the pool for some more water fun! We left the hotel around 12:30 and headed to the airport.

Reed saw Spongebob and told me he needed a picture with Spongebob.

There's our plane!

On the plane headed back to Memphis!

Here are some more videos from our trip:

Here's a little magic for you...

They say your first trip to Disney World will be a magical one...Reed's first trip was definitely a magical one!
